Profile Wrapping involves the proper pre-conditioning of clear lumber blanks, slicing thin veneers (.013 -.015 inches), adhering a flexible polyester fleece backing, and applying the overlay to a profiled substrate, engineered from a variety of material options.

A wide variety of overlays can be applied to any number of substrates, allowing greater design flexibility and options for manufacturers.

Profile wrapping is a lineal process, capable of producing pieces up to 18 feet in length and up to 13.5 inches wide. Wider products (up to 48 inches wide) can be wrapped using a different piece of processing equipment. The profile wrap process utilizes rolls of overlay, resulting in consistent, defect-free, long profiles.

Profile wrapped products are generally not recommended for exterior, weather-exposed use unless the selected material is an exterior-rated UV protected film.
